DEBORAH THREADGILL EGERTON, PH.D.

Dr. Deborah Threadgill Egerton is an internationally respected psychotherapist, IEA Accredited Professional with Distinction, Certified Enneagram teacher, best-selling author, and IDEA (inclusion, diversity, equity, and anti-racism) consultant, coach, and spiritual teacher. “Dr. E,” as she is affectionately referred to, is the founder and president of Trinity Transition Consultants, LLC. She works with individuals and organizations to help them release false historical narratives and to open their minds and hearts to a more compassionate and connected approach to life.

For more than two decades, her work has focused on teaching the Enneagram as a valuable mechanism for social justice and anti-racism and using it as a blueprint to reconnect people across all dimensions of diversity. Her visionary approach to IDEA work expands the traditional scope of the DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) method and allows for the honoring of every individual with respect to all dimensions of their unique self-identification. Dr. Egerton’s Enneagram and Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Anti-Racism Certification Program is a highly regarded IEA Accredited Training Program. She is a current board member of the International Enneagram Association and works with the Enneagram community to cultivate a more inclusive environment. Her greatest passion is leading others to understand their own humanity and to acknowledge and respect the humanity in us all.

She is dedicated to fostering personal development and facilitating career growth, focusing her efforts on respecting the uniqueness of every individual and honoring the humanity in us all.  As a certified practitioner of the Enneagram, she leverages this tool for introspective self-discovery and organizational insight. Deborah has enabled her clients to get “unstuck” and move out of self-defeating negative organizational behavioral patterns.  

​Dr. Egerton has worked with corporate, nonprofit, and government entities, including Amtrak, The Kellogg Foundation, the US Postal Service, Mobile Oil, The Maryland-Capital Parks & Planning Commission, National Recreation and Parks Association, U.S. Army Behavioral Science Institute, and Marriott CU Inc., National Institutes of Health, RegenXbio, Department of Public Utilities, City of Alexandria, Va., and Turnitin. Deborah was the Associate Director of the Mentorship Scholars Program, student psychotherapist, and Special Advisor to the President on Multicultural Affairs at the State University of New York between 1993-1997. In 1993 She founded and served as the director of the Runaway Center of El Paso & Emergency Shelter, Lee Moor Children’s Home. In 1986 Dr. Egerton became the director of the Cooperative Work Experience Program in Augsburg, Germany. In 1994 Dr. Egerton served as the Research Coordinator for the Montefiore Medical Center & Albert Einstein College of Medicine in association with The U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

In 2010 Deborah began creating safe spaces for having difficult conversations, which led to her trademarked process of the Cultural Allies Network for Diversity Learning Experiences (C.A.N.D.L.E.) & her virtual movement to bring people together as allies. In 2020 Deborah launched the Wisdom Warriors bringing together a global network of women for collaboration, connection, & societal transformation, and the IEA accredited IDEA Certification Training Program for Enneagram Practitioners. As a member of the board of directors of the IEA, Dr. Egerton has created a new offering of Enneagroups, designed to bring all people together around IDEA topics. There are currently 4 groups: BIPOC, Anti-racism, POC & Immigration, and Gender & Sexual Diversity Enneagroup.

 

She holds a B.A. in Mass Communications from the University of Texas, an M.A. in Counseling Psychology, from Webster University, and a Ph.D. in Health Sciences, from Saba University. Deborah moved from Bel Air, Maryland to California where she lives with her loving husband, a retired army colonel, Dr. Walter Eugene Egerton III.
